FN America expanded its handgun lineup in 2021 with a feature-rich addition based on its popular FN 509 pistol. The FN 509 LS Edge builds on the success of the original FN 509 pistol line by adding a number of factory-tuned features designed to enhance performance and put the platform on par with customized competition guns.

“FN’s commitment to developing performance-driven products has reached a new level with the FN 509 LS Edge,” said Mark Cherpes, CEO for FN America, LLC. “The foundation of unmatched FN craftsmanship and battle-proven reliability combined with expert counsel from professional users, allowed us to develop the most advanced FN 509 pistol to date.”

Built on the full-size frame paired with a lengthened slide, the FN 509 LS Edge features a 5" barrel complete with a target crown. The slide itself is topped with a green fiber-optic front sight, and the lengthened slide gives you a longer sight radius for improved accuracy. Lightening cuts along each side of the slide reduces slide weight and speeds up cycling. The gun is also enhanced with a flared magazine well machined from aluminum, as well as full-height frame stippling.

The FN 509 LS Edge is outfitted with a flat-faced trigger that provides a short take-up and a tactile, positive short-reset point for fast follow-up shots. The trigger breaks cleanly at 90 degrees with 4-5 lbs. of pressure, giving you consistency from shot to shot. In addition, each LS Edge ships with three 17-round magazine equipped with weighted baseplates that are designed to drop free quickly and easily.

One of the other highlights of the FN 509 LS Edge is the company's Low Profile Optics Mounting System. Four optic-mounting plates are included with each pistol, giving you the ability to mount a wide variety of popular red-dot sights to your gun's slide. The milled slide cut is paired with suppressor-height sights, allowing you to co-witness your dot with your irons. The gun also ships with interchangeable backstraps, so you can fit the frame to your hand.

Suggested retail pricing on the FN 509 LS Edge is $1,499. For more information, visit fnamerica.com.
