As part of its new-for-2020 lineup, Savage Arms introduced a shotgun made specifically with the turkey hunter in mind. The new Renegauge Turkey is a semi-automatic 12-ga. That, according to Sr. Brand Manager Jessica Treglia, “is an off-the-shelf 12-ga. that can be tailored to fit like a custom gun, and it will reliably cycle anything you feed it—no questions asked.” This reliability is due to the new Dual Regulating Inline Valve, or D.R.I.V., gas system that vents excess gas before it drives the bolt, allowing the shotgun to cycle through 2.75” target up to 3” Magnum shells without the need to manually adjust the gas system. The incorporation of the D.R.I.V. gas systems results in consistent ejection, reduced recoil and a fast cyclic rate for quicker follow-up shots.

The barrel is 24” and fluted with a Melonite finish for weather resistance. It comes with four interchangeable choke tubes (improved cylinder, modified, full and extra full) of the Beretta and Benelli pattern. the barrel includes a carbon-steel, ventilated rib with a red fiber-optic sight. The one-piece action bar assembly and reciprocating components are chrome-plated for corrosion resistance and ease of cleaning. The loading port is competition-ready and the magazine is easy to load.

The Renegauge is also adjustable to fit most users big or small, with up to 20 different combinations to the stock settings. This is due to the interchangeable recoil pads, cheek risers and shims to help the user fine-tune the fit to their specific needs for length of pull, comb height, along with drop and cast. Other features include oversized controls for fast manipulation and use with gloves. It’s available in either Mossy Oak Obsession or Bottomland camouflage. It comes in a hard-sided carrying case. Both the Obsession and Bottomland versions have a MSRP of $1,549. For more information on the Renegauge Turkey, visit savagearms.com.

President’s Column | President Meets President

I am quite certain, that for the first time in NRA history the President of the United States met with the NRA president, the NRA president asked for his support for national Right-to-Carry (NRTC), and then, on a national stage, President Trump called out the NRA president’s name and pledged his support for national Right-to-Carry legislation. But that’s exactly what happened at a rally near Allentown, Pa., in late June.

Political Report | Trump Reiterates National Right-to-Carry Support

I am repeatedly reminded of how critical it was that the NRA engaged early in supporting Donald Trump’s 2016 candidacy—and that he won. A recent example came in June, when President Trump spoke to American workers at a Mack Trucks facility in Macungie, Pa.
