Mossberg originally released its bug-out bag worthy 500 JIC (Just In Case) Series in 2008. For 2014, the company is taking things a step further with a commemorative edition meant to honor the 2nd Amendment and support the NRA: the 500 JIC Patriot 6-Shot.

Based on the 500 Cruiser 12-gauge platform, the JIC is a compact, self-contained and transportable 500 shotgun that comes conveniently packaged in a water-resistant tube, ideal for camping, boating and general readiness. The special 2nd Amendment Edition comes in a carrying tube that features the U.S. flag in full color, with the 2nd Amendment boldly emblazoned across the stripes of the flag.

The firearms' receiver, meanwhile, proudly wears the classic NRA logo on the port side. With each purchase, Mossberg will donate a portion of the proceeds to NRA programs, with a guaranteed minimum contribution.
