The Heizer Defense PKO-45 pistol, which was introduced at the 2016 SHOT Show, is finally shipping.

The PKO-45, or Pocket 45, is the slimmest semi-automatic .45 ACP on the market at just 0.8" wide and weighing approximately 25 oz. Constructed from 100-percent U.S. aerospace-grade stainless steel, the pistol features a revolutionary fixed-barrel-under-the-guide-rod configuration, which is designed to reduce felt recoil. The single-action pistol also features a snag-free design, internal hammer, and a frontstrap safety with an additional thumb ambi-safety. Capacity is 5+1 with standard magazines, but an extended mag offers two additional rounds or 7+1.

Tom Heizer said that its release sets the bar even higher for concealed carry. "The PKO-45 is another step in our product extensions and it is only the start of many more to come," he said.

Hedy Heizer Gahn said she is especially thrilled about Heizer's Hedy Jane Empowered line, geared for women. The .45-cal. pistols are shipping now, but she said a 9 mm version is coming soon.

Why the Murder Rate Quickly Fell to a Likely Historic Low

If the gun-control Left is to be believed, then the murder rate in the U.S. should be going up. After all, gun sales and ownership rates have been rising for the last few decades and anti-gun groups claim that gun ownership is the cause of violent crime. This, of course, is nonsense.
