Why do they think they can come take our guns?

Us law abiding citizens, to deserve that, it's nothing we've done.

We all buy, sell and trade our guns within the law.

Yet they try to take them because of fear and slight awe.

Yes it's awe people have and the fear of the power.

That comes with a rifle and our defense of our towers.

We've built up our homes and our lives from the bottom.

They can't have our defenses just cause they want 'em.

Sometimes they forget other uses for guns.

Half the country is broke and have little ones.

Our guns can provide what our little ones need.

Nourishment, full bellies, it's through hunting we feed.

Perhaps it's our self-sufficiency they're after.

Maybe fending for ourselves, they don't want us to master.

But our country cannot possibly sustain all this

The government assistance that allows a faux bliss.

People live on food stamps and can't find jobs

They're cracking and snapping and forming huge mobs

Our youth should not be acting this way

But fix the problem? Forget that, just take guns away

That logic makes no sense, as it is my right

To defend myself against a violent plight

Stop putting our country's problems on rifles

Our constitutional rights you cannot stifle

See something, say something, a campaign you started

To turn us against our brother, make us all feel guarded

You cart us off, citing the NDAA

But we're not the criminals, don't take us away

Take another hard look at your fear of our guns.

And remember our right to protect daughters and sons.

Another side to this you all fail to remember

Should boots hit our soil, you'll need internal defenders

Law abiding gun owners will defend this land

We will fight if we need to, hand in hand

But without us there aren't enough people to fight

Our country's left open to possible strife

Think about guns from every possible angle

Don't try to takes ours just cause of policy you've mangled

I'm not the bad guy, I'm a regular mom

Who wants to feel safe at the store or the mall

So again, really think when drafting your bills

Are you listening to constituents from way up on the hill?

I'm a mother, a step-mother, and a very loving wife.

And I'm asking you, please, don't touch my right to defend life.
