When the 10 mm Auto cartridge was developed, it was envisioned as a high-power round for law enforcement. Its high-velocity loadings delivered more foot-pounds of energy than most personal-defense and law enforcement cartridges available at the time. But when the FBI deemed the recoil too heavy for most of its agents, manufacturers watered down most 10 mm Auto offerings.

The new Federal Premium Vital-Shok Trophy Bonded 10mm Auto is a full-power load designed to take complete advantage of the caliber’s true capability, offering the muscle needed for both big-game hunting and personal protection. Its new Trophy Bonded Jacketed Soft Point bullet design is based on the Trophy Bonded Bear Claw rifle bullet, with a heavy jacket that features a formed inner profile that pre-programs and controls expansion to ensure deep penetration.

The full-power 10 mm Auto load provides 1,275 fps muzzle velocity, and a nickel-plated case offers easy extraction.
