Renovations are underway at a 35,000-square-foot building on 11.5 acres in Sioux Falls, SD, that will soon centralize multiple operations for Silencer Central and become the fast-growing company’s new headquarters. It currently has 125 employees across spread across the country, but plans include the addition of 100 staff members by the end of the year to meet demand for its services and suppressors.

The number of law-abiding citizens with a suppressor-related NFA tax stamp nearly doubled between 2016 and 2019. Figures are not yet available for the record-setting gun sales year of 2020. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ annual “Firearms Commerce in the United States” report indicates the number of owners with the required stamp and corresponding suppressor rose from 902,805 to 1,750,433 (from 2016 and 2019).

“Our growing business model has simplified the silencer purchase process across the country propelling our operations into high gear,” said Brandon Maddox, CEO of Silencer Central. “The increase in demand has allowed for steady growth. We originally planned to build our own facility, but we found a unique opportunity here that we couldn’t pass up. We’re thrilled that Silencer Central was able to take ownership of an unoccupied building right here in Sioux Falls.”

The company's success can be attributed to the unique direct-to-consumer shipping model that Silencer Central pioneered. Thanks to the company's nationwide infrastructure, they're able to send suppressors directly to consumers following NFA approval. The company also offers a streamlined NFA application process that makes buying suppressors easier than ever before.

American Rifleman Executive Editor Kelly Young explored the company's process from start to finish in this article. In addition to selling many popular suppressor models, Silencer Central also offers its own line of Banish suppressors, which underwent American Rifleman's comprehensive testing protocol.
