Sellmark Corporation has acquired the 460,000-square-foot Pier 1 building at 2200 Heritage Parkway, Mansfield, TX. The building is directly across the street from Sellmark’s international headquarters. Pier 1 has been a longstanding pillar of the community and a respected employer, but the once-iconic retailer succumbed to the economic uncertainties related to the Covid-19 pandemic and entered bankruptcy.

“We are wanting to provide employment opportunities to hardworking people that have been displaced due to Covid-19,” said James Sellers, founder and CEO of Sellmark Corporation. “We have many open positions and are interviewing candidates regularly. I encourage job seekers to send us your resume and check back often for job postings located on our website.”

Sellmark Corporation never halted operations during the pandemic. The company is considered an essential business by supporting law enforcement and has continued to hire new employees, donated masks to local organizations and provided work-from-home pay for employees during the peak of the outbreak. Additionally, it pledged to fully pay any employee who was hospitalized due to Covid-19. Sellmark utilized preventive measures before any government mandates, including multiple building entrances, temperature checks and social-distancing guidelines.

The former Pier 1 building has been rebranded as Heritage Park and is ready to start operations for the next great distribution company or manufacturer. Sellers said, “The property will make a great home for a great company. Mansfield is a wonderful community to operate a business and it is a perfect place for your employees to work and live. I am looking forward to personally welcoming the next major employer to our community.”

As a prominent local employer and manufacturer of popular brands such as Sightmark, Kopfjäger, Firefield and Pulsar, Sellmark has continuously grown through a number of difficult economic cycles by serving security agencies, law enforcement officers, hunters, target shooters and outdoor enthusiasts. In July, the company expanded its facility in Sofia, Bulgaria, to better meet the increased international demand for its products.
