FN America announced the expansion of its SCAR 20S precision-rifle lineup early in 2020, adding a new 6.5 Creedmoor model. This all-new offering is calibrated specifically to ensure that shooters can take fast follow-up shots while putting round on target at extended ranges with enhanced accuracy and precision.

Like the company's earlier .308 Win. model, the FN America SCAR 20S in 6.5 Creedmoor is constructed with a monolithic upper receiver that features a hard-anodized finish. The receiver features a continuous Picatinny top rail that provides expanded room for mounting optics. On the bottom and sides of the aluminum receiver, consumers will find additional Picatinny accessory rails that run to the end of the receiver, enabling shooters to mount bipods as close to the muzzle as possible for added stability.

Of course, the FN America SCAR 20S operates with a short-stroke gas-piston system, which is mated with a cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined, free-floated barrel measuring 20 inches long. The threaded barrel is topped with a SureFire ProComp 762 muzzle device, which directs expanding gases out the sides of the device to mitigate recoil and muzzle rise.

To aid in precision shooting, each FN SCAR 20S in 6.5 Creedmoor is outfitted with a Geissele Super SCAR two-stage match trigger, as well as a fixed buttstock that's adjustable for length-of-pull and comb height. The SCAR 20S also comes outfitted with a comfortable Hogue pistol grip made from overmolded rubber and complete with finger grooves. Control-wise, the SCAR 20S comes with an ambidextrous safety selector and magazine release, and the reciprocating charging handle can be placed on the left or right side of the receiver.

Each FN SCAR 20S in 6.5 Creedmoor ships with a single 10-round magazine and is available in FDE or black. The rifle weighs in at 11.6 pounds, unloaded, and measures between 41-42.8 inches long, depending on the length-of-pull adjustments added. Suggested retail pricing on the 20S in 6.5 Creedmoor is $4,499. For more information on the new caliber offering, visit fnamerica.com.
