For years Bond Arms has offered a diverse caliber selection of big-bore, caliber-convertible double barrel pistols constructed of tank tough stainless steel. Although I have yet to hear anyone complain about the high quality of Bond's craftsmanship, some have wondered it would be possible to enjoy the same features in a pistol that is slimmer and lighter. The company is answering these requests with the brand new (and yet to be formally named) "Slim" model which will be chambered in 9 mm and .38 Spl.

Like it's beefier compatriots chambered for cartridges including as .45 Colt, .357 Mag. and 10 mm, the Slim features a 3" stainless steel barrel, hammer and controls. However, the barrel and frame have been narrowed to reduce weight. The frame is constructed of anodized aluminum instead of steel and sports an integral trigger guard. The grip frame accepts the standard grip panels the company already offers.

The 9 mm and .38 Spl. barrels will be interchangeable within the Slim line-up and the pistol is rated for +P ammunition in both calibers. The unloaded weight is just 12 ozs., or about half that of the all steel models, and the suggested retail price has been trimmed down to just $299. This pistol is slated to ship later this year.
