Thanks to a National Guardsman, two women were saved from a domestic violence altercation. A woman was driving her daughter to the airport when her estranged husband intentionally crashed his car into her vehicle. After the wreck, the husband ran toward the two women and fired a gun into her car, striking the daughter. The husband proceeded to grab the daughter from the vehicle and pistol whip her. Thankfully, the guardsman intervened, pointed his gun at the assailant and ordered him to stop. Ignoring the demand, the husband turned his gun on the armed guardsman. Fearing for his life, the guardsman shot and killed the attacker. The daughter is in stable condition. Charges are not likely to be filed against the armed guardsman. A burglar, who had spent 17 years in prisons for crimes in Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, was killed robbing a restaurant near Lima, Ohio. Proprietor Lowell Tullis grabbed his rifle when the restaurant intercom alarm system aroused him in his nearby home. When the intruder balked at Tullis’ demand for surrender, one shot ended a 25-year criminal career. (The Lima Citizen, Lima, OH)
