Montana Rifle Co., now part of Montana Outdoor Group LLC, is offering its American Standard Rifle (ASR), which combines myriad successful designs into one. The ASR bolt-action rifle utilizes twin, opposing locking lugs on its bolt to provide for a 90-degree throw and boasts a Mauser-style extractor to ensure positive extraction. Additionally, the bolt is designed for controlled-round feeding of cartridges from the internal box magazine, with a hinged floorplate for easy access. The rifles stock is borrowed from European design, as is the walnut wood provided. For more on the Montana Rifle Co. ASR, watch this week's NRA Gun of the Week video hosted by Brian Sheetz.
