Bexar County officials were investigating a shooting in which an armed citizen stopped a woman from being attacked. An ex-boyfriend allegedly forced his way into the residence and began assaulting the woman. A third person—it was not reported whether he was in the house or came in from outside—responded by shooting the alleged assailant, who was taken to a hospital. But when he kept advancing on her, she fired her .32 once, killing him. “She gave him every chance and was in fear of her life,” a police official said. “As far as we’re concerned, it was a justified shooting.” (The Times, St. Petersburg, FL)
