In Indiana, a state conservation officer owes his life to an armed citizen. After receiving a call about a suspicious person, the officer approached a vehicle parked on the roadside. The vehicle’s owner began to resist and fight the officer as he tried to arrest the loiterer. Noticing the disturbance, a nearby resident came to the officer’s aid. She fired one shot, and hit the assailant in the torso. The officer, who suffered assault injuries, and the attacker were taken to the hospital, where the bad guy later died. The woman will not be charged. (The Enquirer, Rising Sun, IN, 2/22/17)
