Sometimes criminals don’t learn their lesson until it is too late, and that was just the case with one woman who had previously been convicted twice for possession of drugs. Early one morning, the woman was trying to gain entry into a home, where she knew at least one of the residents. The male homeowner, in defense of his life, shot and killed her near the back door of the home. The homeowner was not charged. (Knoxville News Sentinel, Knoxville, TN, 2/10/17)

A customer entered the Gardena, Calif., liquor store where retired policeman Lee Burris is a clerk, drew a revolver, and demanded money or Burris’ life. Burris, his spectacles knocked off by the bandit, drew his cal. .38 revolver and killed the would-be robber with bullets in the chest and side. (Los Angeles Herald & Express, Gardena, CA)
