Some burglars just won’t quit until they find a place they can break into. But such determination came back to haunt a bad guy in North Carolina. In the town of Benson, police were called before sunrise one November morning and were told that a stranger was “beating on doors in the area” and possibly checking for one that was unlocked. Before the police arrived, the bad guy gained entry to one abode, where the resident had a gun and shot him. The suspect was taken to a medical facility and charges were expected. The Armed Citizen® Extra
Early one morning, a couple was awakened by the sound of someone kicking in the door to their home. The male homeowner grabbed a gun and, when he encountered the intruder, ordered him not to come up the steps. The burglar, who was armed with a handgun and in possession of meth, pointed the gun at the homeowner, but eventually complied. The homeowner held him at gunpoint until officers arrived. The man faces charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during a violent crime and possession of meth. A paroled robber was shot and his two companions fled when Emanuel Johnson surprised them burglarizing his St. Louis cleaning shop. A single round from the owner’s .45 cal. revolver felled the parolee, who later identified the co-conspirators for the police. (Post-Dispatch, St. Louis, MO)
