To honor the more than 2.5 million Americans who served in Southeast Asia over the span of three decades, America Remembers has announced the exclusive Vietnam Veterans Tribute Colt .45 Pistol. The Tribute honors the dedicated service of those who fought and didn’t hesitate to put their lives on the line, giving everything in defense of freedom. Authorized by the Army Historical Foundation, the pistol is offered in a limited edition of 500. The pistols feature the artwork of Vietnam veteran Al Alexander, whose artwork is an especially fitting tribute to those who served in Vietnam, and those Americans who waited for them to come home.

The left side of the slide features four paintings of Al Alexander’s: “Heavy Weight Contenders,” “Delta Dragon Ship,” “Red LZ” and “Lonely Point.” There are tanks patrolling a jungle road, Huey helicopter dropping troops in a hot landing zone (a Red LZ), a point man on the lookout as he approaches a river crossing, and a patrol boat engaging the enemy on the river bank. Near the muzzle end, a banner reads, “Vietnam Veterans Tribute."

The right side features: “Another Day at the Office,” “Double Trouble” and “Ringside for a Fast Mover.” A helicopter gunner covers troops on the ground, personnel carriers with troops and helicopters overhead, and a Phantom dropping napalm as troops observe from a distance. A banner reads, “Lest We Forget, All Gave Some, Some Gave All,” in honor of all who served in Vietnam.
