When a serial armed robber was on the loose in Indiana, just the threat of being shot by a targeted victim was enough to bring his spree to an end. The robbery suspect accosted a woman and flashed a gun at her. Instead of cowering in fear, she pulled out her own concealed handgun, and he turned and ran away. Police caught the fleeing suspect and ended up linking him to a string of break-ins and robberies in the area. The suspect was arrested and charged in connection with possession of a stolen handgun, possession of stolen property and other related crimes. (Fox59, Kokomo, IN, 5/17/16)

The Armed Citizen® Extra
An Alexander City, Ala., man was at work when he got a call from his neighbor that someone was breaking into his shed back at home. Returning to his residence, the man drew his pistol and investigated, finding a highly intoxicated burglar who was busy drinking the resident’s stores of collectable beer. The thief, who is known to local law enforcement, was held at gunpoint until the authorities could arrive. (wsfa.com, Montgomery, AL, 1/28/16)

August 1975
Two men, one wielding a hunting knife, walked into John Capone’s Roslindale, Mass., pharmacy and demanded drugs. The pair followed Capone to the rear of the store. There the druggist pulled a revolver from a hiding place, began firing and wounded both would-be thieves. It was the third attempted holdup Capone has thwarted in recent years.
