For SHOT Show 2016, Thompson/Center has introduced its new Compass line of value-priced bolt-action rifles. With an MSRP of just $399, the concept behind the Compass is to offer hunters a feature-rich rifle with accuracy, reliability and functionality that belies its affordable price. Available in 10 center-fire chamberings (.204 Ruger, .223 Rem., .22-250 Rem., .243 Win., .270 Win., 7 mm-08, 7 mm Rem. Mag., .308 Win., .30-‘06 Sprg. and .300 Win. Mag.), standard calibers will feature 22” free-floating barrels, while magnum cartridges will have 24” barrels. A user-adjustable trigger can be set between 3.5 and 5 lbs., and the guns are backed by T/C’s Minute of Angle guarantee. The barrels of all 10 models are also threaded from the factory for use with suppressors, compensators and muzzle brakes. The new Compass will begin shipping in early summer, just in time for hunting season. For more information on the T/C family of bolt-action rifles, visit tcarms.com.
