Ever since Colt developed the Commander in 1949, the 1911 pistol has been modified, adapted, tweaked and improved for comfortable carry and easier concealment. Wilson Combat continues this trend with the Spec-Ops 9, a pistol based on the Commander-size platform but made even better for concealed carry through numerous modern enhancements.

The 9 in Spec-Ops 9 refers to the pistol’s chambering, that being the popular 9 mm Luger. 1911 fans may think of that as heresy, but remember, the Commander was originally introduced in 9 mm. Unlike the first Commander pistols, though, the Spec-Ops 9 holds 16 rounds in its double-stack magazine.
