A homeowner shot and killed two people who allegedly broke into his home in a town east of San Francisco. The resident was home when two intruders gained entry to the dwelling. Reports provided few details other than to say that the armed citizen fired in self-defense. The two suspects were pronounced dead at the scene. (sfgate.com, San Francisco, CA, 6/22/17)

Three intruders kicked in the door of a North Carolina home late one Saturday night, alarming the residents. They demanded money from the residents but when they did not comply both parties exchanged gunfire. One of the criminals was shot and killed but no one else was hurt.
