A man in Las Vega, Nev., was forced to shoot his roommate in self-defense when the latter attacked him with a knife early on the morning of Nov. 6, 2020.

The fight occurred sometime after midnight that Friday morning when the roommate, who was staying at the condo with the man and his fiancée, had a fit of rage while high on drugs. The roommate was said to be acting delusional and, at some point, grabbed a knife. The man grabbed a shotgun for defense as the roommate attacked him with the knife.

The roommate stabbed the man six times with the blade during the struggle. In response to the imminent danger, the man shot the roommate several times at close range, killing him in the process. The fiancée of the man called authorities.

Around 1:00 a.m. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police arrived at the scene to find the wounded man and deceased roommate inside the apartment. The man was taken to a medical center in serious but stable condition. (news3lv.com

In seven years of facing criminals at his Glendale, Calif., jewelry store, Ed Kovacs has been held up four times, but has never lost a dime to robbers. The criminals, on the other hand, have suffered two dead and two wounded. In the most recent incident, a trio of criminals entered and demanded loot.

Kovacs hauled out a .38-cal. revolver instead, killing one shotgun-wielding robber, wounding a second and holding the third inside the store with the help of an electric lock. Kovacs said World War II service in Italy taught him “if someone points a gun at you, shoot him.” (The Times, Los Angeles, Calif.)
