Armed Citizen® Today

A homeowner in Van Nuys, Calif., opened fire on intruders, sending them fleeing following an attempted burglary.

LAPD officers arrived at the residence at about 9:45 p.m. on April 9 following a report of shots fired. An investigation found that the homeowner had discovered four men inside his home. He fired a single shot at one of the intruders, which caused all four men to flee the residence. No injuries were reported and it was not known if any property was taken during the alleged burglary. From the Armed Citizen® Archives – September 1970

Atlanta Ga., police answering a call found Mrs. James F. Brown, wife of the night superintendent of police, calmly holding a burglary suspect at gunpoint. Seeing two men drive up to a neighboring house while the owners were away, she had grabbed a pistol and captured one. The second fled. (Atlanta, Ga., Constitution)
