A homeowner in Perry, Iowa, defended himself and his family when an intruder allegedly broke into their residence on March 20, 2022.

It all started just before 11 p.m. that Sunday night, when the would-be burglar attempted to enter the home, with the sounds alerting the homeowner to the unfolding situation. The homeowner then armed himself and later opened fire on the intruder in defense of himself and family members inside the home.

The homeowner's shots hit the mark, wounding the intruder. When police arrived sometime later, they discovered the stricken 22-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. An air ambulance transported the wounded man to a hospital in Des Moines, where he was treated for his injuries. After being discharged from the hospital, the foiled robber was charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and simple assault. (who13.com, Des Moines, Iowa, 05/26/2022)

Awakened by his daughter late at night, Manuel Sardinha watched as two intruders crept into the backyard of his Swansea, Mass., home and began to force open a ground-level window. Sardinha, who had been burgled previously, got his hunting rifle and held the burglars at gunpoint until police arrived. (The Journal-Bulletin, Providence, Mass.)

Why the Murder Rate Quickly Fell to a Likely Historic Low

If the gun-control Left is to be believed, then the murder rate in the U.S. should be going up. After all, gun sales and ownership rates have been rising for the last few decades and anti-gun groups claim that gun ownership is the cause of violent crime. This, of course, is nonsense.
