No one wants to face off against four strangers trying to break into their home, but when that happens, it helps to be armed. A Keithville, La., woman was home alone during the day, and apparently heard noises outside, where four suspects were scurrying near her door and bushes. She grabbed her handgun and went to the door, shooing the hooded culprits away with a threat to shoot. Police later spotted the getaway vehicle and arrested four young men, still with hoods up, and found backpacks, masks, drugs and a knife in the car. (710keel.com, Shreveport, LA, 10/27/17)

When a would-be thief was stood up to twice by armed homeowners in broad daylight, he knew his luck had run out. In the first incident, the armed burglar attempted to steal a motorcycle, pointing a handgun at the homeowner when he tried to intervene. However, the homeowner responded in kind by drawing his own pistol, causing the criminal to flee. At the second residence, he again aimed his firearm at the homeowner and demanded the keys to their car. He was once again met with the homeowner's gun pointed in his direction. Police later found the thug and charged him with armed burglary, grand theft and home invasion. (Venice Gondolier Sun, Sarasota, FL, 12/23/17)

President’s Column | President Meets President

I am quite certain, that for the first time in NRA history the President of the United States met with the NRA president, the NRA president asked for his support for national Right-to-Carry (NRTC), and then, on a national stage, President Trump called out the NRA president’s name and pledged his support for national Right-to-Carry legislation. But that’s exactly what happened at a rally near Allentown, Pa., in late June.

Political Report | Trump Reiterates National Right-to-Carry Support

I am repeatedly reminded of how critical it was that the NRA engaged early in supporting Donald Trump’s 2016 candidacy—and that he won. A recent example came in June, when President Trump spoke to American workers at a Mack Trucks facility in Macungie, Pa.
