A couple intervened to help a Houston McDonald's employee being held at gunpoint late one night. When a robber pointed a gun at the employee in an attempt to hold up the restaurant, the couple stepped in, with one man drawing his gun and shooting the robber. A New Orleans, La., woman was getting out of her car when accosted by two armed robbers demanding money. Instead of giving them money, the 34-year-old woman pulled a gun and fired at her assailants. Two wounded suspects were detained by police at a local hospital. (The Times Picayun, New Orleans, La.)
