Kimiko Fambro took advantage of having a right-to-carry permit when she found herself in a life-or-death situation in Warren, Ohio. While Fambro was outside, a gold van drove up beside her and the men inside started firing their guns at her. Fambro pulled out her gun and shot back, then called the police. While Fambro was telling responding officers what happened, a bulletin about a man who was brought to a hospital with a gunshot wound came across the police radio. Other officers went to investigate that situation. The authorities also later spotted a van matching the description Fambro had provided and found the man who allegedly had been driving the vehicle during the attack. He and the suspect who was shot have been charged, and an arrest warrant has been issued for a third accomplice. Police said no charges will be brought against Fambro. A would-be thief is in the hospital after an attempted robbery at a fast food restaurant in Lawton, Okla., ended instead in gunfire. Witnesses told the police that the actor approached another person in the McDonald’s parking lot and tried to rob them, before a third individual intervened, produced a handgun and shot the assailant in the jaw. The authorities arrived at the scene to find the injured man conscious and covered in his own blood. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he remains at this time. No charges had been filed against the Good Samaritan who interrupted the robbery. (The Lawton Constitution, Lawton, OK, 9/25/15)

When a robber attacked him in the darkness of his backyard, Bruce Haughey mounted lights on the garage behind his Topeka, Kan., home and secreted a .38 Spl.-chambered revolver to carry on the walk to his house. Recently, home from work, Haughey put the car into the garage, got his gun and emerged into the yard to be met by two robbers. Haughey fired, wounding one of the felons with two bullets as his confederate fled. (Topeka State Journal, Topeka, KS)
