A Boyle County homeowner stopped a would-be auto thief early one Friday morning. After being alerted by the gate intercom, the homeowner walked outside to discover their vehicles sitting much closer to the road than they were previously. The homeowner approached his vehicle, and found the thief still sitting in one of the cars. He was held at gunpoint until police arrived. (WKYT, Danville, Ky., 6/5/19)

Jack Allen, an Anaheim, Calif., gunshop owner, pulled a .38 revolver when one of two would-be robbers reached into his waistband for a small pistol. Firing five times, Allen scared the pair out of his store.Police later arrested them and an accomplice. (Santa Ana Register, Santa Ana, Calif.)
