SHOT Show 2019: Norma USA .17 HMR and .22 Mag Rimfire Ammunition

Norma Ammunition is among the top producers of high-quality factory ammunition in the world. However, this Swedish company recognizes that it hasn't done much to catch the eye of American shooting enthusiasts in a while. This is a problem the company's American division, Norma USA, is striving to rectify this year with a strong marketing push and new products Americans are looking for including new .17 HMR and .22 Mag. rimfire offerings. 

The new .17 HMR V-MAX is topped of with a 17-gr. polymer tipped V-MAX bullet for quick expansion for for varmints and small game. With a listed velocity of 2560 f.p.s., this round produces 245 ft.-lbs. of muzzle energy with an effective range of up to 200 yards. The .22 Mag. load features a copper-jacketed hollow point designed for optimal penetration and expansion on small game. The 40-gr. bullet launches at 1877 f.p.s. for 312 ft.-lbs. of muzzle energy. Norma's .17 HMR will be available in 50-round boxes for a suggested retail price of $12.78 and 50 rounds of .22 Mag. will be priced at $10.30
