MGE 1911 Grips

Mammoth Grip Exchange is a small startup company that specializes in crafting replacement stock sets for M1911-pattern pistols in a dizzying assortment of exotic materials—from woolly mammoth ivory and abalone shell to carbon-fiber composites and uniquely figured woods—providing an opportunity to make your pistol truly unique.

Regardless of your material of choice, each set is a one-off, and while most available stocks are designed for use aboard full-size (Government/Commander-length) M1911 grip frames, select options for other models (including Officer-size M1911s and Kimber’s Micro 9) are offered. Each set can also be personalized further with any of a number of modifications, including company medallions and/or bobtail and bilateral safety cuts.

Price: $200-$350 (wood), $525-$750 (mammoth tusk). Contact: Mammoth Grip Exchange; (805) 300-3190; mammothgripexchange.com.
