SIG Sauer offers its Tread lineup of guns that provides consumers with a platform that is easily customizable, and the company’s 716i Tread expands that capability to the company’s short-action frame chambered in .308 Winchester.

The Tread concept makes it easy for consumers to customize their rifle by finding components with the Tread logo—if it has the logo, it will fit on the Tread. The 716i Tread is a semi-automatic rifle, fully featured and functions via direct-gas impingement through the company’s micro gas block. A Tread-series, 15” handguard surrounds the gun’s 16" stainless steel barrel, which is fixed via SIG Sauer’s innovative Tread mounting system.

The SIG Sauer 716i Tread features bilateral controls, as well as a single-stage trigger with polished, hard-coat engagement surfaces. The gun is equipped with a SIG pistol grip and an Magpul SL-K six-position collapsible stock. Quick-detach sling attachment points are located on either side at the rear of the receiver. M-LOK slots along the handguard provide amble space for additional accessories.

Our experience on the range with the 716i Tread rifle proved the gun to be a well-optioned entry point into the world of .308 ARs. The SIG Sauer Tread system give consumers the opportunity to easily customize their 716i Tread series rifle.
