Announced at SHOT Show, back in 2024 by Military Armament Corporation, there were two large-format, semi-automatic variants of H&K’s roller-delayed MP5. Many will be pleased to see for 2025 that these fully functioning non-NFA clones are shipping to dealers and made available at an affordable price-point.

The Machinenpistole 5 designed by the German manufacturer Heckler & Koch in the mid-1960s is the basis for the new Military Armament Corporation large-format, roller-delayed blowback pistol in 9 mm. Two versions are available now, the MAC-5 and MAC-5K, so it’s important to understand the differences of these two clones.

The MAC-5 is a faithful recreation of the original German machine pistol, except made in Turkey. The semi-automatic action features that well-known roller-delayed H&K operating system and form-factor many have come to love. It comes chambered for 9 mm Luger and has capacity for 30 rounds; two MP5 magazines will ship with each gun. The MAC-5 is the larger of the two offerings, measuring just under 18” long and comes with an 8.9” chrome-lined barrel of which contains button rifling and a fluted chamber. The barrel’s muzzle is threaded 1/2x28 TPI and has a tri-lug adapter for accessories.

On the MAC-5K side, you get all of the same dynamics of the MAC-5 except in a more compact package with an overall length of 13.7”. Its operation and features mirror the MAC-5, so you’ll get the same globe front sight and aperture rear and lower grip frame. The MAC-5K fore-end is reduced because of the shorter, 5.8” barrel. Overall weight is reduced by about a pound, too, weighing in at 4.6 lbs. MAC-5-series pistols will come a premium case with custom-cut foam lining, two magazines, cleaning kit, tri-lug flash-hider, trigger lock and an instruction manual. Military Armament offers a lifetime warranty, so it’s obvious the company stands behind these latest imports.

Pricing for both the MAC-5 and MAC-5K is scheduled at $1,100. For more information, visit MilitaryArmamentCorp.com.
