HK VP9SK OR

Building off the success of its popular VP9 series of polymer-framed handguns, Heckler & Koch has introduced a new rendition of for 2022, the VP9SK OR. Based off the VP9 series the subcompact VP9SK OR has many of the same characteristics as the larger handguns, but in a more compact package. Chambered in 9 mm Luger, it comes with a 3.39" cold-hammer forged barrel with an overall slide length of 6.61". The barrel also has a polygonal bore profile, contributing to a longer service life for the barrel.

It also has a height of just 4.57" and a width of 1.31", feeding from either flush fitting 10-round magazines or extended 13-round magazines. The grip frame features the same styling of finger-grooves and texturing found on the VP series, and the backstraps, along with lateral grip panels, are interchangeable with larger and smaller options that also come with the pistol. An additional three-slot Picatinny rail segment is also molded into the dust cover.

Controls feature a bilateral magazine release and slide catch, along with an integrated safe-action trigger and a takedown lever located on the left side of the frame. The striker-fired trigger has a single-stage pull with a short positive reset. On the slide, serrations are cut into the front and rear sections for added grip when charging, along with added charging supports at the rear of the slide to add extra purchase. The slide itself is protected by H&K's hostile environment finish for corrosion resistance.

For sights, the VP9SK OR comes with a set of iron sights dovetailed into the slide, with the rear sight being drift-adjustable for windage. As a unique feature on the VP9SK OR, the slide is also cut to accept micro red-dot optics, with an included cover included with the pistol. The mounting point cut into the slide is meant to accept mounts form several popular manufacturers of micro red-dot sights. Suggested retail pricing for the VP9SK OR starts at $899.
