My boss, NRA Publications Executive Director Doug Hamlin received this letter from a U.S. Marine Corps veteran friend of his that I thought worth sharing:

“Dear Doug:

“I want to complement NRA for the for the television advertisement I saw tonight on the 5 Fox show. In it, a former SEAL speaks of supporting our warriors as well as extending to our youngsters the price of and the honor earned in serving our country.

“I hope NRA’s plans for screening this ad goes beyond just that station, as this message needs to be seen all across the country. It just might register with some who, in their hearts, know the path we are currently on will only open us up to more vulnerability.

“Simply put, this is the finest message NRA has had since President Charlton Heston was our spokesman. It is a great campaign that respects the honor and valor this nation can generate within the guts and soul of our warriors and within the hearts and mindsets of the American citizens who still believe in the destiny and potential of our great country.

—Jim N.,”

The spot described above is one of 17 NRA is running across the nation in areas with critical legislative races. You can watch three of them below.

According to NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre, “To preserve our values and protect our freedom, America needs the good guys to step up like never before." The campaign’s message is “It's time to believe in the good guys again. We are the 5 million men and women of the National Rifle Association of America. Join us: JoinNRAnow.Org.”

Review: Steiner Predator: 4S 4-16X 44 mm

The benefit of a lightweight rifle is lost the moment you top it with a clunky, overweight optic, particularly a lengthy one. To that end, we are starting to see an emphasis on riflescopes that are less cumbersome when mounted, such as Steiner’s Predator 4S.

A Carry-Ready Classic: Outfitting A Ruger Speed-Six Revolver
