While the mainstream media rightfully calls Jason Falconer a hero for stopping a terrorist who stabbed nine people, there’s a lot more to his resume than “part time police officer.” He’s also the owner/president of Tactical Advantage, a Minnesota firearm training facility that specializes in self-defense and concealed-carry training. His resume also includes shooting with the United States Practical Shooting Association and 3-gun.

It’s painfully obvious most reporters/editors don’t want to admit such a lifesaving act came from someone whose 40-hour-a-week gig is training armed, law-abiding citizens how to ensure their safety until first responders arrive. He’s been operating the company since 2003, so it’s a little hard to overlook—unless, of course, it doesn’t quite fit your agenda.

Mayor David Kleis said, “… he clearly prevented additional injuries and potentially loss of life … . His heroic actions are exemplary.” The accolades are well deserved, but it’s nothing new for him. He served and continues to protect the public in uniform, and for the past 13 years, five days a week, eight hours a day, empowered lawful citizens willing to exercise their Second Amendment rights with the kind of knowledge that gives them a better chance of surviving potentially deadly criminal confrontations—whether by armed robbers, home invaders or, in this case, crazed terrorists.
