Magpul’s 2020 introduction of two AR pistol-compatible arm braces is a recognition by the accessory company that large-format pistols have become the runaway winners of the AR market during the past few years.

Designed to be braced against the shooter’s arm, adding an extra point of contact to substantially improve stability during one-handed firing, the new BSL and BTR arm braces share essentially the same feature set, they just differ aesthetically.

The BTR is stylized to imitate the manufacturer’s popular CTR buttstock, while the BSL appears to be an even further pared down version of Magpul’s MOE SL-K model.

Unlike most similar products that require a pistol-length receiver extension, the new Magpul braces are compatible with standard mil-spec carbine extensions, and they can be adjusted for length without the need for any tools.

Users have multiple ambidextrous sling-mounting options, as each model features both M-Lok-compatible slots integrated into the design and a QD cup in the rear of the brace. For more information on Magpul's new pistol-stabilizing braces, visit
