Avidity Arms, a division of Eagle Imports, has launched a new 9 mm pistol—the PD10.

Designed by well-known defensive shooting instructor Rob Pincus, founder of the I.C.E training system and the Personal Defense Network, this 10 + 1 capacity single-stack, striker-fired pistol offers features ideal for concealed carry and personal defense. Slim and lightweight, this made-in-America pistol features concave sights, which can be used for one-handed reloads.

“When it comes to defensive handguns, I've seen what works and seen what doesn't,” says Pincus. “There's a list of features that in my experience are ideal for a defensive pistol and there are some variables that adjust to fit specific people, roles and conditions."

Pincus says that while there is no one perfect gun for every person and every scenario, it is possible to design and manufacture a pistol that fits as many people as possible and will serve them well in worst-case scenarios. The PD10 was designed for those interested in the feel of a full-size handgun but with the concealed-carry aspects of a single-stack design. “I didn't see anything on the market that had all the features of the PD10 in a modern firearm,” he says.

MSRP on the pistol is $499. For more, please visit Avidity Arms.

First Look: MDT Hand Cannon Slingshot

Slingshots are fun, but they can also be a legitimate backup defensive tool—in 2023, a 13-year-old Michigan boy saved his 8-year-old sister from being kidnapped by using a $3 slingshot to fire a marble and a rock at the assailant, striking him in the chest and head.
