Auto-Ordnance Remembers Iwo Jima Fallen With Special M1 Carbine

Auto-Ordnance, in partnership with the artists at Altered Arsenal, has announced the release of a special-edition M1 carbine in commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima. The specially crafted rifle pays tribute to the unwavering bravery and sacrifice of the American servicemen who fought on the black sands of the island.

The rifle’s most prominent feature is its detailed wood stock, which is engraved with iconic imagery and sentiments. In a tribute to the fallen, the individual names of many of the thousands of American servicemen who lost their lives in the battle are engraved directly onto the stock. The front bears the phrase "HONORING THE FALLEN."

The rear stock features stunning depictions that evoke the spirit of the battle, including the legendary flag raising on Mount Suribachi, a map of the battle, military symbols and a prominent 80th Anniversary commemorative medallion.

While serving as a powerful memorial, the rifle maintains the historical accuracy and quality that made the original M1 carbine a legend. Chambered in .30 Carbine, this limited-edition firearm is an artifact for collectors, historians and anyone who wishes to own a piece of history and honor the enduring legacy of American heroism at Iwo Jima.

Two versions of the commemorative rifle are available to comply with state and local laws. The AOM130C4 model comes with a 15-round magazine, while the the AOM140C4 has a 10-round magazine.

Nearly 7,000 members of the United States Marine Corps died during the 1945 battle on Iwo Jima. Another 20,000 Americans were wounded on the island, which has a landmass of barely 8 square miles.

Auto-Ordnance is a legendary name in American firearm manufacturing, best known for producing the Thompson submachine gun, also known as the “Tommy Gun.” The company was founded in 1916 by John T. Thompson.
