The SCO15 from SilencerCo is an AR-15-style receiver that boasts features AR-15 builders are attracted to. Classified as a stripped receiver, the SCO15 does come with a proprietary bolt catch accessible from both left and right sides. The receiver is machined from 7075 aluminum and treated with Type III anodizing, which renders a with a matte-black finish due to the sulfuric acid used in the process.
SilencerCo machines its receiver to be used with mil-spec parts. The lower’s integral trigger guard has been shaped to allow use with gloved hands and flows into the magazine well, which features a flared design. The enlarged opening of the magazine well is designed to expedite reload times, so shooters looking for a competition-grade receiver will be pleased.
