Demand from military and law enforcement agencies, as well as civilian consumers, for a brown/tan rendition of Leupold’s DeltaPoint Pro reflex sight has been heard and addressed by the Beaverton, Ore., optics manufacturer. Leupold is now offering its 2.5-m.o.a.-dot reticle DeltaPoint Pro in Dark Earth, a bronze-brown finish that is sure to satisfy the tactically-tan inclined.

Other than the all-tan finish, there are no differences between this all-new DeltaPoint Pro and the company's traditional, black-finished DeltaPoint Pro reflex sights. The optic weighs in at only 1.95 ounces and provides 60 MOA of adjustment range for both windage and elevation. The sight is small enough to fit on a user's handgun slide, measuring just 1.3 inches in height and width.

All it takes to power the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro is a single CR2032 battery, and to save battery life, the optic features Motion Sensor Technology that turns the unit off after five minutes of immobility. Once a gun is picked up again, the optic powers on and returns the DeltaPoint to the same brightness setting as the user last selected.

“The DP Pro was built from the ground up to deliver the unparalleled performance that professionals and competitive shooters require—it’s the fastest, toughest red-dot sight in the world,” said Tom Moyle, product line manager for Leupold. “Adding the FDE model rounds out the entire line and offers shooters a product that they’ve long been asking for.”

In fact, the DeltaPoint Pro has provided such dependable service in field testing that the U.S. Marshals Service selected the optic for use on its duty firearm, as Shooting Illustrated reported here. Other features found on the optic include the use of Leupold's Twilight Max Red Dot System to sharpen edge-to-edge clarity, and the hardened construction enables it to withstand the intense recoil forces experienced on a moving handgun slide.

Suggested retail pricing on the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro FDE is $570. Contact: Leupold & Stevens, Inc.; (800) 538-7653; leupold.com.
