Krieghoff International took advantage of the more than 1,000 competitors who gathered at the 2020 NSCA Sporting Clays National Championships to debut its latest shotgun: the Krieghoff K-80 Parcours-X. This brand-new over-under shotgun is a model dedicated to the sporting-clays game and adds an offering in the company's lineup that strikes a balance between its original Parcours model and its standard K-80 Sporting model.

“Our dealers give us the most valuable feedback on what the market is looking for,” said Nick Boerboon, Krieghoff International Sales Manager. “In response, we designed a Parcours model that gives shooters a bit more weight in their hands for a smoother swinging option on the robust K-80 frame.”

The company plans on offering the Krieghoff K-80 Parcours-X as a full production model starting in 2021, providing sporting clays and FITASC shooters with a nimble, easily handled shotgun that has a bit more weight in the barrels for easy swinging. This is thanks to the addition of the company's brand-new Thin-Wall chokes, an innovative feature combined with the gun's 32" barrel and tapered flat rib.

Each Krieghoff K-80 Parcours-X is built on a nickel-plated steel receiver treated with a satin-gray finish. Below the receiver, shooters will find a single selective mechanical trigger, which can be adjusted to accommodate different shooters' finger lengths. The trigger pull on the Parcours-X model measures about 3.75 lbs. At the top of the gun, consumers will find a top-tang push-button safety, which can be locked off during shooting.

The 32" barrels on the Krieghoff K-80 Parcours-X feature 3" chrome-lined chambers and are topped by the company's Thin-Wall chokes in Improved Mod and Mod constrictions. At the top of the barrels, there's a new tapered rib design that starts at 10 mm and tapers to 8 mm without a center tramline, giving shooters an incredibly clean sight picture. There's a metal center bead and a white-pearl front bead near the muzzle for sight alignment.

Enhancing the look and feel of this Krieghoff K-80 Parcours-X shotgun is the addition of a select Turkish walnut stock and fore-end, each finely checkered and treated with a satin epoxy finish. The stock is available in right- and left-hand configurations complete with an adjustable comb and palm swell. The slim, field-style fore-end aids in the nimble feel and smooth handling of the gun on the range.

Each Krieghoff K-80 Parcours-X shotgun comes chambered in 12-gauge only and weighs about 8.5 lbs. The guns ship in a specially finished Krieghoff Negrini case. Suggested retail pricing for the 2021 Parcours-X model is not available as of press time, but the 2020 pricing schedule published by Krieghoff lists a starting MSRP of $12,395 for its standard-grade K-80 Parcours model.
