Two brothers living in Las Vegas were forced to defend themselves from an intruder one Friday afternoon. After the younger brother (in his mid-40s) alerted his older brother (mid-50s) that people were trying to break into their home, he sprang into action. Entering the hallway, he was immediately confronted by the intruder, and the two began fighting. While they struggled, the younger brother managed to fire several rounds at his older brother's assailant. Despite this, the men continued to fight, eventually scuffling their way outside into the driveway. A concerned neighbor, upon hearing gunshots,  called for police help. After police arrived, the would-be burglar was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died due to the gunshot wounds he had sustained. Neither brother was permanently harmed. Two armed men entered Gerald Wetherell's Flint, Mich., market and one announced, "This is a stick-up,." They forced Wetherell, an employee and a customer into a meat cooler, then returned with another customer. Wetherell took a gun from his belt and shot both robbers. (Flint Journal, Flint, Mich.)
