Armscor introduced its VR60 gas-operated, detachable-box-fed semi-automatic shotgun roughly 18 months ago to great success, and for 2019, the company offers an upgraded version with new features and higher-quality components. Designed to mimic the appearance and manual of arms of an AR-platform rifle, the 12-ga. VR80’s upper and lower receivers and handguard are all made from black-anodized 7075-T6 aluminum, and the magazine release button, bolt release lever and bilateral 90-degree safety selectors are placed right where AR aficionados will know to find them. Chambered for 3" shells, the VR80 comes with two gas rings—one for light and one for heavy loads—so the user can adjust the shotgun appropriately based on what ammunition is being used, and makes use of Beretta/Benelli-style Mobil chokes. Two five-round magazines ship with the VR80, but aftermarket nine- and 19-round replacements are already offered. armscor.com
