An alleged kidnapper in Roanoke, Va., got more than he bargained for after an armed citizen came to the victim’s aid. The suspect, police say, abducted a woman and was holding her against her will. The next day, though, a friend came to her aid. When her acquaintance came to help, the abductor pulled a knife and attacked the man, who then responded by shooting the bad guy in the gut. The suspect will be charged after the hospital releases him. (The Roanoke Times, Roanoke, Va., 10/13/18)

The resident of a Kansas City apartment was the intended victim of a targeted attack early one Monday morning. Fortunately however, she was armed and ready. After a brief exchange of fire, in which she was unwounded, the woman ran both assailants off. Two suspects have since been arrested for the assault.  (KSHB, Kansas City, Mo. 11/20/18)
