Ed Brown Products, Inc. has announced a new carry pistol, the Compact 1911.

The Compact is based on an Officer's-sized frame with a Commander-length slide (4.25") and a shorter frame. But don't let its small exterior fool you: It's still a workhorse on the inside, using 100 percent Ed Brown fully machined premium components, and hand-fitted to the Ed Brown forged frame and slide. The frontstrap and mainspring housing are checkered at 25 LPI, and a fixed black rear sight and red fiber-optic up front make for a high-visibility front sight. Checkered laminate wood grips complete the model for a traditional aesthetic.

Features:
-4.25" Commander model slide, single stack compact (Officer's size) frame
-Weight: approximately 37 ozs. with an unloaded magazine inserted
-25 LPI checkering on forestrap and mainspring housing
-Optional Gen4 coating for low glare, superior rust protection, and improved wear resistance
-Matte finished slide for low glare, with traditional "square cut" serrations on rear of slide only
-Fixed black rear sight, red fiber optic front sight
