Hornady has legitimized another Creedmoor cartridge, this time of the 6 mm variety. It wasn’t long after the 2007 introduction of the 6.5 mm Creedmoor that precision rifle enthusiasts started tinkering with the cartridge, and in the past several years the 6 mm Creedmoor wildcat has become one of the most successful cartridges for long-range accuracy competitions. For this year, Hornady has standardized specifications and submitted the 6 mm Creedmoor to SAAMI, and is even manufacturing match-grade ammunition with a 108-gr., .243-cal. ELD Match bullet. Besides its excellent ballistic characteristics, the 6 mm Creedmoor has the advantage of being well-suited for use in self-loading rifles. hornady.com
