When an intruder broke down a family’s front door, the male resident immediately went into protective mode in order to defend his wife and three children. When the trespasser gained entry into the home, he immediately got into a scuffle with the homeowner. During the altercation, the criminal stabbed the homeowner, who in return grabbed a gun and shot and killed his attacker. The father was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Harold K. Holt was parked at a Waynesville, Mo., drive-in when he saw a boy breaking into a nearby service station. Holt drove over to the building and ordered the youth out at the point of a shotgun. State troopers were notified and took charge of the suspect. (Leader-Press, Springfield, MO)
