The Olympic Games are just around the corner with opening ceremonies set for Aug. 5, and it’s already promising to be an exciting couple of weeks.

Trap and skeet shooter extraordinaire Kim Rhode—the first U.S. Olympian to win medals at five consecutive games in an individual sport (1996 to 2012)—is all set to head to her sixth Olympics. She is only the second U.S. woman to compete in six games. Rhode won her first three medals in Double Trap (gold in Atlanta, bronze in Sydney, gold in Athens) and her last two in Skeet (silver in Beijing, gold in London).

American Rifleman will be rooting for Kim Rhode and the rest of Team USA throughout the games. For coverage and updates, sister publication Shooting Sports USA will be reporting on the events as they unfold. Additionally, all Olympic shooting events will be streamed live from the NBC Olympics website

Help us cheer on Team USA and encourage them to hit their targets by not missing the events. And since the Olympic Games come around only every four years, it’s the perfect excuse to geek out with guns!
