Desert Eagle fans are among the most loyal of brand followers, so when the lightweight DE L5 in .357 Mag. was introduced in 2015, it quickly gained widespread appeal, especially among its dedicated fans. Now we have word that in 2017 Magnum Research will offer the pistol in .44 Mag.

The new 5” barrel L5 will feature a hardcoat anodized black aluminum frame, a black carbon-steel slide and barrel, and Hogue finger groove rubber grips. The pistol also sports Magnum Research's popular integral muzzle brake. And good news for residents of the Empire State: The new, lighter version of this popular Desert Eagle .44 Mag. puts it under 50 oz., rendering it New York State compliant. Overall length is 9.75", height is 6.25" and the slide width is 1.25". It also ships with one 8-round magazine. MSRP: $1,790

Magnum Research has also expanded the aluminum frame L6 with stainless slide and barrel to include both .44 Mag. and .357 Mag. calibers, on top of the already popular .50 AE. Both models feature a 6" stainless steel barrel and slide with a hardcoat anodized black aluminum frame, a stainless-steel slide and integral muzzle brake, and a Picatinny rail. And like the L5, the new L6 features a Hogue finger groove rubber grip. Overall length is 10.75", height is 6.25", and the slide width is 1.25". The single-action pistol has a 4 lb. trigger pull. Each ships with one magazine. MSRP: $2,054

Kahr Arms has also made some changes to four models in its Value Series of CM, CT and CW pistols. For the first time, specified models will now feature white 3-dot sights, a Pachmayr Tactical Grip Glove, and a Pearce finger rest magazine extension. These four models will be offered in Cerakote Tungsten on the slide, trigger and slide stop lever. MSRP: $439 for the CW3833TU3 and the CT3833TU3; $499 on the CM9093TU3 and the CM4543TU3* (*Pearce Finger Rest not available).
