Record gun sales continue to steal the headlines, but there’s another side to that story—people need fodder to feed all those new guns. Thankfully, the firearm industry recognizes that fact.

SIG Sauer announced at the SHOT Show that it is opening a new plant in Jacksonville, Ark., to produce its line of Elite Performance ammunition that continues to expand. Fifty new jobs are expected to be generated in a move expected to cost the company $5.7 million.

The Remington plant in Lonoke, Ark.,—which has been in operation since the 1980s—will expand yet again as the company invests another $12 million in the facility and create 84 new jobs. Nearly 1,200 people are already employed there and in 2014 the facility added another building to its production line.
